Letting Go
We all have days where we don’t feel as great as others it’s totally normal. It’s good to have some darker days occasionally because it makes us appreciate the good days and is a healthy balance. In order for the light to shine so brightly the darkness must be present.
When we start to do some inner work generally something that makes you evolve, grow as a person or expand you will notice ‘stuff’ will come up that needs to be addressed and cleared. It is all part of the process of healing as being a human and living a human existence.
As we live we will experience different circumstances and emotions throughout our lives and not all are always great or perceived as great experiences and can have an effect on us emotionally. We can sometimes suppress these emotions and if we don’t deal with them and process them at the time they surface, they can cause many problems later on by either playing out toxic patterns in our lives or even causing disease.
Last night I had emotion overcome me, I was looking through some old photos of my life, I guess I was feeling sentimental and as I watched the last 15 years flash before my eyes I felt overwhelmed with emotion. Some memories came flashing back some were great and some not so great. I felt some sadness and starting crying for what seemed like a few hours because obviously something in me needed to be cleared, acknowledged and healed.
In that moment I really felt that pain, sadness and acknowledged what it was I was holding onto, I felt nothing but compassion for myself and that situation that needed to be cleared. I was gentle with myself and I even comforted myself by touching my arm to let myself know its ok and because I know, how healing human touch and connection really is.
Letting go is never easy but if you surrender to the process, not fight it, accept it and be compassionate with yourself then it makes it an easier process. It’s good to let out unprocessed emotions it’s so healing for your body and mind and is a real form of self care.
This morning I did my rituals that I know help me to have a positive mindset and have a brighter day. We will all have these moments of not feeling great and that’s ok just remember to accept what is happening, surrender to the process and then move on doing the things that make you smile. Life is like a bicycle in order to keep your balance you must keep moving.
